During their panel at the 2017 Agrohack Conference, José E. Maldonado & Duamed Colón discuss climate change and how it affects every sector of the agriculture industry, including the dos and don’ts that could help us change the outcome.

Jose served as business editor of El Nuevo Dia from 2001 to 2003, when he was transferred to Orlando to direct the newspaper’s edition in that city. Two years later, Jose came back to Puerto Rico as business and sports editor and brand manager of El Nuevo Dia. In 2008, he left the newspaper to become editor of Mi Puerto Rico Verde, a digital publication that covers ecofriendly topics relevant to the island. Jose is co-owner of 360 Fixers, a provider of content, digital media and marketing services.

Duamed is the Founder and CEO of Agro Tropical (AT) a startup company that applies research and innovation to develop products, high quality seeds, and sustainable agriculture commercial scale production systems. AT is a stakeholder of Cover Crops in PR’s agricultural community and collaborates with NGO’s, Universities, Farmers and USDA on Sustainable Agriculture Technology Transfer efforts. AT is I-Corps alumni, 2016 Guayacán EnterPRize Grand Winner, and 2016 PR Science & Technology Awardee.
