During her Address at the 2017 Agrohack Conference, Decenia Vega shares how her agriculture startup Semila came from nothing and blossomed to represent its country in an international agriculture competition in South Africa.
Decenia got her training in commercial cocoa production at the Dominican Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Research. She has studied agriculture and agro-entrepreneurship at the UPR in Utuado, Soller Agricultural School and the Women Agro-Entrepreneur Program in UPR Mayagüez and earned a professional certificate on international markets and export from Metropolitan University. She mentors micro-enterprises in P.R. via workshops and training on agricultural innovation and business development.
