Carlos Flores Ortega is the Agriculture Secretary of Puerto Rico.
Carlos has decades of experience in the agriculture industry as a research scientist and teacher. He has authored or co-authored 18 scientific publications, written 80-plus articles for AGROTEMAS and received numerous awards. Prior to his current post, he served as executive director of the P.R. Senate’s Agriculture Committee and sub-secretary of Agriculture. Carlos has a B.S. in agricultural science and a master’s in horticulture and plant physiology from University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez.
