Jorge Ramírez is an Agronomist and Agro-Entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience in the public and private food industry sector. He is an advisor for agricultural affairs and expert in financial, cost, manufacturing and retail matters. He is Project Manager for Walmart & Sam’s Club Agroempresarios Program, aimed to develop, mentor and prepare local farmers to consistently supply products to Walmart & Sam’s Club and substitute imports with local produce.
The program, which started in 2011 with 25 farmers has grown in five years to more than 250 local farmers that represent about $50 million in Walmart and Sam’ Club local purchases.
