Collaborative Entrepreneurship in the Regulated Cannabis Industry

At the 2016 Agrohack Conference, Bianca Caban & Marvin Rhone discuss how standardization and transparency facilitate collaborative entrepreneurship and market growth in the regulated cannabis industry.

Bianca Cabán is an entrepreneur launching several entities in New York, Puerto Rico, and Washington state to execute economic revitalization projects, including Greenboard Solutions a SaaS (software as a service) start-up for cannabis businesses. As a Partner in Taino Capital, she is a consultant to various entities on these projects, in particular, on the tax and economic incentives in Puerto Rico.

She is a Founding Board Member of AccessLatina, an Advisory Board Member to City National Bank’s $30 million Women of Color Loan Fund, and a member of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers. She started her career at Wall Street firms including BlackRock and Credit Suisse. Bianca earned a B.A. from Harvard College in 2009

Marvin Rhone is an entrepreneur and software developer who leveraged his background in finance to launch a cannabis distribution business in his native state of Washington. After being awarded one of the first state licenses, he developed an enterprise software application to help his and other local cannabis businesses adhere to the Washington State’s strict and quickly-evolving compliance process.

In 2016, he partnered with Bianca Caban to create Greenboard Solutions, a SaaS (software as a service) start-up for cannabis businesses that builds on this work with the goal of expanding nationally and globally. Before this he managed major SaaS client relationships for Blackrock. Marvin earned a B.S. from Brown University in 2010
